How I got to Dino's Gyros in Clairemont, I don't know... I remember trying to get to El Pollo Loco, taking a wrong turn, and somehow I ended up at the intersection of La Tienditas and Clairemont Town Square. Ah, serendipity at its best!

I landed at Dino's Gyros, all lit up like a neon beacon in the afternoon, and got a beef kebab plate. For a fast food place, their service is top-notch, but the wait-time of 15 minutes is very long.

My order included two skewers of beef cubes, four pieces of pita bread, Greek salad with feta cheese, some rice pilaf, and a side of tzatziki sauce. I drizzled the sauce over my plate and dug in.

The meat was tough and salty, and the pita was a little soggy (I wish they toasted their pita bread), but I really liked the rice pilaf (so soft and tasty) and the salad was delicious. I don't usually like red onions or olives in my salad, but at Dino's Gyros, the red onions and olives were mild in flavor. Very tasty.

For Greek and Mediterranean food, I'll go to European Market and Deli, but if I'm craving good Greek salad at a neighborhood spot, I'll come here.
